Just in time for Valentine's Day planning - and perfect to pair with my Steak au Poivre. (If that sounds intimidating and French then click through to the recipe because it literally uses six ingredients).
I'm a big fan of Seattle based Dry Sparkling Beverages because they are something a real grown up would drink. Even if you don't add the booze. But since I like to add the booze, I mixed up a fun little cocktail for Valentine's Day that I LOVE along side the steak - a Lavender Bee's Knees.
With how much pepper is on the steak and the sharpness of the onions, the cocktail had to be something that could stand up to those flavors and cleanse the palate in between. The sour lemon muddled with sweet honey perfectly cuts through the richness of the steak - and the light lavender flavor comes through at the end.
Lavender Bee’s Knees
In a cocktail shaker, muddle ¼ lemon with 1 tablespoon honey. Pour in 2 ounces vodka and fill with ice. Shake.
Strain into a cocktail shaker and top with 2 ounces Lavender DRY Sparkling
